It’s been about 7 years since Whitney Houston died but unlike many deceased artists, there hasn’t been any posthumous music released from her estate. That all changed today as Norwegian DJ, Kygo, released a new song “Higher Love” featuring the deceased Whitney Houston. Kygo stated that he was charged with transforming one of her old recordings into the new track which was released today. The song is called “Higher Love” and is a cover of Steve Winwood’s 1986 song of the same name.
Whitney’s estate gave the recording to Kygo, who was more than excited to be given such a monumental task. “I was honored when the Whitney Houston estate reached out and presented me with the opportunity to work with one of the greatest female vocalists of all time,” Kygo explained. “I reworked the song from scratch and am really happy with how it turned out!”
If you find yourself in New York on the 30th of June, you can check out the PrideFestival Utopia where the song will be performed for the first time ever.
