Iwobi makes Arsenal squad to play Chelsea in Europa League Final

The 2018/2019 Champions League and Europa Leagues has been a rather unforgettable one. With several plot twists that eventually landed in an all English Finals in both competitions.

While Arsenal failed to finish fourth in the EPL, their chances of securing a Champions League place now relies solely on the results of their Final Clash with London rivals, Chelsea FC.

For Nigerian fans, good news reaching us is that Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi, has been selected among the 24 Man squad to play Chelsea in the final.

Although Iwobi was not a regular starter under Wenger, he has since played a more important role in Emery’s Arsenal, and has been quite reliable in his role whenever given the opportunity, and perhaps this Final may be his opportunity to Fly.

Arsenal will take on Chelsea on Wednesday in Azerbaijan, while Liverpool face off with Tottenham on Saturday.

With 31 goals after 50 games this season,Arsenal’s Aubameyang would be looking to stretch his dominance, as the Gunners’ top scorer in Baku.

Shortly after the Europa finals, Iwobi would be looking to join his compatriots for the AFCON 2019 competition. Iwobi’s Nigeria is part of Group B of Africa’s foremost football competition and will face Guinea, Burundi and Madagascar.
