Fully funded Scholarships at University of Edinburgh, UK

Through the Study UK program,  150 scholarships from UK universities are available to students in 18 other nations. This is done in collaboration with the GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council.

The GREAT Scholarship is a scholarship program that provides students from 14 nations with the chance to receive £10,000 for their tuition costs to pursue a  variety of one-year academic postgraduate courses. 49 colleges in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland are offering 200 scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic session. 

Each Great scholarship listed below is co-funded by the British Council and UK Higher Education Institutions under the GREAT Britain Campaign of the UK government.

1. Online Masters Scholarship by Mastercard Foundation 2022/2023

This is one of the Great Scholarships at the University of Edinburgh. The MCF grant will pay for the whole cost of tuition, a laptop, high-speed internet access, and a small study stipend. Also, you’d get the chance to attend a summer school in person in Africa. The scholarship will also cover three years of part-time online education. 

2. The University of Edinburgh 2023 Global Online Learning Masters Scholarship for African Students

The University of Edinburgh will grant twelve scholarships for distance learning, to students who wish to pursue a degree at the college. Generally, the scholarships handle all of the tuition costs. The University of Edinburgh 2023 Global Learning Masters Scholarship for African Students is also renewable for the entire period of the study program.

3. Andrea Levy University of Edinburgh 2023-2024 Scholarship for African & Caribbean Students – Scotland

This is the third University of Edinburgh on our list offering the Great Scholarship. The Andrea Levy Scholarships were created from a memo in  2020. Due to a grant from the household of the deceased Andrea Levy, the University of Edinburgh has the honor of providing scholarships to help Caribbean and black African students from socio-economically disadvantaged homes.


Students who are citizens and immigrants of Turkey, China, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt,  and Vietnam will get scholarships to study at the University of Edinburgh. However, that is if they are approved for a full-time postgraduate master’s program which lasts only one year on campus.

Applicants can only the scholarship on academic merit.   Applicants must already hold, or anticipate obtaining, the foreign equivalent of a first-class honors degree from the United Kingdom.


The sum of each scholarship is £10,000, which is taken from your tuition costs and is valid for only one academic year.

To have access to the application portal, applicants must have submitted an admission application to the University of Edinburg.  You should note that it may take a maximum of five working days after an admission application has been submitted for all system verification to be finished and access to be granted. Furthermore, you can use the address ‘https://www.myed.ed.ac.uk‘ to access the online scholarship form.

After receiving the scholarships and promoting GREAT Scholarships through their channels, successful candidates must provide written approval to the British Council contacting them for pre-departure briefings, program reports, assessment, and promotion for future programs. Before being published, you must submit promotional materials to the British Council for permission.
