Don’t box me into Hip-Hop, I’m comfortable with my sound

The south African music sensation Focalistic, also known as Maradona, who recently featured Nigerian top artist, Davido in his popular Amapiano song Ke Star, has explained how he gravitated from Hip-Hop to Amapiano in an interview, explains how comfortable he is in the industry in an interview On Elite Nites with Kgomotso.
The music sensation, who is currently making waves across the continent explained reasons behind his new style and sounds.
According to him, he said he should not be boxed into Hip-Hop genre, as he figured out his sound when he was working with Major League, and moved to a new sound when he dropped his Ep.

“I have never claimed to be 2Pac, i have never claimed to be J Cole, I’m Focalistic Maradona”
when he was asked if he has been solidified in the industry, with his song. He said hes comfortable with being himself, and his fans have accepted him as the Maradona and enjoys him s the Maradona.

Growing up in Pretoria, i listened to a lot of artist, and they inspired me. Maradona has been my personae starting from the street as a young boy.

He also promised that his album will be dropping which will take him down memory lane, which will explore his journey as a fatherless child, how he never watched cartoon as a kid and how difficult it was for him growing up.
